History
| A "Turn" is mostly just a convenient way to divide up a Big Cheese game into smaller parts. Each turn in a game lasts the same amount of time, but that amount of time will vary from game to game. A week long game will usually have turns that last for a full 24 hours. A one day game might have turns that last one or two hours. You don't take turns, like in a boardgame. Everyone can play at the same time. You can make bids and use items at any time, no matter what turn it is. Instead, Turns serve these important functions: - They split the game up into chunks to make it easier to see which auctions are coming up soon - They protect you from other players by delaying the effects of some cash specials. - Between turns, you get more cash (Income) and the Big Cheese reassigns Rank and Auction Blocks. At the end of each Turn, you will get more cash to spend on shopping. It is important to remember this, as it will have a large impact on your bidding. Many players bid lower near the beginning of a Turn so they don't run out of money too quickly. Near the end of a Turn, the bids tend to get higher, since everyone knows that they are about to get more cash! You can use some items to affect your cashflow. If you sell a Special Liquid item, you will get more cash to spend, but that cash will not appear until the end of the current Turn, when it is added to your Income. Similarly, if someone steals some of your cash, it is taken out of your next Income. This means that you don't have to worry about losing auctions because someone keeps stealing your cash- at least, not until next turn. Also, you don't have to worry about losing auctions because someone suddenly got a huge windfall of cash in the middle of a turn and upped their bids. | null
